College Football Research Lab (CFBRL) is an editorial site. We are not trying to build a profile of you, we do not sell personal information, and we do not run advertising trackers.

This page describes what the site does today. If that changes, this page changes with it and the date at the bottom moves.

The published site loads a traffic measurement script supplied by our hosting platform. It is served from this domain and reports to a collection endpoint on this domain, so you will not see requests going out to an advertising network. First-party delivery is a routing detail rather than a promise that nobody else is involved: the hosting platform is the service that receives and processes those measurements on our behalf, and our content delivery provider sits in front of every request.

From reading the deployed script, it measures page views and page performance timings, and it makes use of browser storage on this domain to keep a visit consistent between page loads. The measurement request itself carries ordinary web request information, including your IP address, which is how any approximate location would be derived, along with the page you loaded, the page that referred you, and general device and browser details. We look at it to see which pages get read. We do not use it to build advertising profiles and we do not sell it.

There is no consent banner on the site at the moment, and this page is a description of what happens rather than a substitute for any consent that may be required where you live. We make no claim here about compliance with any particular privacy law. We do not run Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or third-party ad trackers. If what is measured changes, this page changes with it.

We do not set advertising or retargeting cookies, and no ad network is given a place to write one. That is different from saying the site is storage free. Our content delivery provider sets a security cookie named __cf_bm on this domain to tell ordinary readers apart from automated traffic, and the hosting platform's measurement script reads and writes values in your browser's local and session storage on this domain so a visit is not counted several times over.

You can clear or block cookies and site data in your browser. Nothing on the public pages requires you to accept one, although blocking the security cookie may affect how the site loads.

If you email cfbrlab@gmail.com, we receive your email address, your message, and anything you attach. We use it to reply, to fix an error you reported, or to keep a record of a correction.

We do not add emailers to a mailing list. There is no newsletter signup collecting addresses on this site.

Scores, schedules, and betting-line observations come from licensed third-party sports-data APIs. Those requests are made by our servers, not by your browser, so those providers do not receive your IP address or browsing activity through this site.

Our hosting and database providers process ordinary server logs, including IP address and user agent, in order to serve pages and protect the service against abuse.

This site publishes gambling-adjacent research and is not directed to anyone under 21. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
