Responsible Gambling
CFBRL writes about betting markets because they are interesting and informative. That is a different thing from encouraging anyone to bet. If gambling has stopped being fun, help is free and confidential.

Signs worth taking seriously
- Betting more than you planned, or more often than you planned.
- Chasing a loss with a bigger wager to get even.
- Borrowing money, hiding wagers, or lying about how much you bet.
- Gambling to escape stress, boredom, or low mood.
- Losing interest in things you used to enjoy, or missing work and family time.
- Feeling restless or irritable when you try to stop.
Practical limits
Decide what an evening can cost before it starts, and treat that number as spent. Money you need for rent, food, or bills is not a bankroll.
Set deposit, loss, and time limits in the app itself rather than in your head. Most licensed sportsbooks also offer cooling-off periods and self-exclusion, and your state may run its own exclusion list.
Betting to recover a loss is the pattern that turns a bad night into a bad year. If you notice yourself doing it, stop for the day.
CFBRL has no sportsbook affiliate partnerships, does not accept wagers, and does not publish picks. Gambling is legal only for adults in jurisdictions that permit it, and the age limit is 21 in most of them.
